Thanksgiving Stuffing?

I bought stuffing to be baked inside of the turkey and now I have decided not to cook it inside the turkey because I have so many places to be and I need to conserve my time. The turkey will take longer to make if I add stuffing inside. My question is, can I now make this stuffing outside the turkey even though the directions only say to bake it inside the turkey? Any suggestions on how i should make this?
